The Continual Apocalyptic Revelation

Altizer reinscribes the revolutions of thought into the continual apocalyptic revelation which had it's genesis in the death of Christ. As he does this he finds certain capitalizable words such as Necessity, Totality, Contingency, Eternity, Ground etc. which, in this continuous revelation, enter into different constellations. E.g. Nietzsche knew Necessity as Absolute Contigency. He most truly realized the Death of God by seing the disruption of Eternity by Chaos as Absolute Beginning etc. In this way these fundamental ideas become something like the Zoas in Blake: cardinal stars which remain singular in themselves, but which enact a dynamic between them which is the continuous apocalyptic revelation. Blake's method for tracing this history of revelation was a gesamtkunstwerk epic, which the 21st century has clearly revealed as the necessary form - a form of continuous revolution and self-transgression - to intimate the true universality and radicality of Apocalypse.
