WRITING

Radical Apotheosis

Some notes from October 2020 that I just rediscovered

What's the highest thing Art can aspire to ? Why aspire to 'do something', why not just create? That headless expressionism tends to be a symptom of what is, it holds no guarantee to at all reach outside of the current hegemony, even if it does display it's horrid symptom in a catharsis of undeniable beauty. To break out of capitalism is a violent and proactive endeavour, of visualising a mould and then pouring yourself into it with little restraint, rather than just pouring your innards out aimlessly.

Radical anti-capitalist art can not appear and act inside any established "art world" or institution, To the degree that it does it also tears at the seams of said institution. Early romanticism, 60s rock, early punk, early Black Metal are examples of “true” counter culture. which was seen as a threat by (to) society because it was, at least in the form it existed in then.

Yet they all were subsumed, taken over and made to serve capital, lessons for a future culture of radicality. The white walled room is death. Radical art needs to live and breathe, probably in musky dark places with flickering lights

The highest thing Art can aspire to is radical Transfiguration of the Cultural-Economical-Political Hedgemony.
