The Ultimate Horizon
What is art but simply entertainment if it does not take a stand, if it does not plant its stakes in something? The indulgence of doing art for ones own sake is unbearable because it only reifies the ego. The question of why one should create art - for what - is often asked, and this is a radically open question, we are free to posit whatever answer we may. Then why not go to the end and be impossibly ambitious? Why not sound a horn in attempt to call up the Apocalypse and a subsequent arrival of the Utopia beyond Capitalism? A finishing of Scriabins Mysterium, a parallax process to Hunt-Hendrix’s Ark Work. An art of transcendence as prophecized by Nietzsche. Art not as one thing among many within life, but as the new foundation of life. To try to bring about the kingdom of heaven through enacting it’s culture, as well as you are able to envision it. To be a larval angel in continual chrysalis. To create art which does not lend itself to circulating as commodities or instituting rent (e.g. renting the possibility of having an artistic experience by paying an admittance fee). Life as a performance piece pointing at art as a way of life, and works as a series of necessarily failed attempts to consummate the betrothal in a final rite.
